Description:

The Aasimar are a natural oddity, mortals born with the spark of the divine. What specific conditions need to be met is unclear, and the birth of one seems near random. The only criteria appears to be having an ancestor who was blessed by the gods of the heavens, though which gods appears inconsistent.

Many noble families will arrange marriages specifically to produce Aasimar children. Neither parent has to be Assamir themselves, and Assimar do produce human children themselves. As a result, half Assamir are impossible.

Their divine birthright, rarity and connections with the nobility tend to make Assimar mistrusted and avoided by most of the common folk.


Appearance

  • Assimir resemble their parents, which can be:
    • Human
    • Elf
    • Dwarf
    • Halfling
  • They have additional physical features that mark them as Assimir, varying wildly from individual to individual. some examples are:
    • Pupil-less, luminous eyes,
    • Silver/copper/golden skin
    • Halo
    • Feathers around the shoulders / back
  • Aasimar do not have wings without channelling Celestial revelation.

Characteristics

  • Sometimes instilled with a sense of ‘higher purpose’ or a belief they are ‘chosen’.
  • Despite the ban on religion in Daethia, Aasimar are more seemingly common in Illenfar than elsewhere, though still exceedingly rare.
