On the south-western tip of Illenfar, is a land of long, hot summers to harsh, ice-wind winters. Filled with rolling hills, The region’s history is one of constant turmoil: a relentless cycle of revolts and civil wars fought over conflicting deities, causing the country to constantly split apart only to reform and fight again.
A religious hotbed of small cults and worshippers of lesser deities. A land with a history of turmoil. constant revolt, uprisings and civil wars. Splitting apart only to reform, fights and wars over gods. Mages and scholars were once shunned, and in the case of witches even hunted, in favour priests and clerics, even if these clerics employed dark powers.
Some 10 years ago, shortly after another another coup by the hands of a fire worshipping cult, The Daethian empire marched on Atrus. The warrior priests of the land marched against the invading forces, but their war-god patron abandoned them when the empires mage cadre unleashed fire and death upon them. Many villages where raised and abandoned and the Empire swept through the land largely unhindered. The conquest was crushing, even at the start of the war it was clear the Atrusians where on the losing side.
