Daethia, the heart of the Empire, is a vast, deeply unpleasant land defined by cold utility and relentless state control. Geographically, it is a monotonous sweep of territory, often wet, stormy, and perpetually overcast. The cities are monuments to brutalist architecture: monolithic grey-stone towers, endless lines of crammed, stacked houses, and oversized, empty squares designed to inspire, but often feeling empty and hollow.

These cities are tied together by a web of wide gravel roads that stretch the empire, each busy with carts, wagons and Imperial trade. Most of these coalescing in Kromostadt, the largest city in the Empire.

The gaps between these cities are dotted with villages and small towns, scrabbling at whatever trade their regional council assigns them. Often many attempt to farm the land, yet the soil here produces little - hence most opt for cattle farming.
